Quick and Easy Solutions: How to remove tree sap from clothes

This is especially frustrating when the sap gets on your favourite clothes. You may have brushed against an incredibly sticky tree while on a hike or come home with clothing that is covered in sap. In this article, we will show you how to get tree sap out of clothes.

1. The method of freezing:

Materials required:

Bags made of plastic
Ice cubes

Steps:

The sap stained part of the clothing should be facing upwards.
Add ice to the bag and close it.
Place the bag into the freezer and leave it there for about an hour or so, until the sap becomes solid.
To remove clothing from freezer, use a butter knife to scrape any frozen sap off with.
Wash the garments as you normally would once most of the sap is gone.

2. Ribbing Alcohol

Materials required:

Isopropyl alcohol, also known as rubbing alcohol

Steps:

Use a rag or a piece of paper to cover the area that is stained. This will prevent it from spreading.
Moistening a cloth with rubbing alcool.
From the outside, gently rub the sap stain using the cloth that has been soaked with alcohol.
Continue wiping until the sap dissolves and begins to lift off the fabric.

3. Hand Sanitizer

Materials required:

Hand sanitizer containing alcohol

Steps:

To remove the sap stain, apply a tiny amount of hand-sanitizer.
You can gently rub the area using your fingernails or a soft, clean cloth.

The stain can be removed with a soft, dry cloth.
The clothing can be washed as normal.

4. WD-40:

WD-40 spray lubricant

Steps:

Spray a few drops of WD-40 straight onto the sap stains.

5. Pine Solvent

Steps:

Rub the stained area gently with a fresh cloth.
